Relax and Be Free

“Freedom is a place, an area. It's a higher place. There are some other people that are here, and things that are here which are unseen. But you first have to set yourself free and believe in what you cannot see, believe that there is something more out there."― C. JoyBell C

There are so many choices today that we are able to swim in a sea of constant confusion and diversion if we like. Probably we will like. At least for a while, we will, until we are utterly bored and fed up with that level of existence.

"So free we seem, so fettered fast we are!" -Robert Browning

Our culture has produced a level of abundance and leisure, (despite the artificial scarcity created by the current money system), that it is possible now to go off and be lonesome, disconnected, and thoroughly, constantly 'medicated' to dull the pain. This is something that will happen for a while, as we individually and collectively crawl out of centuries of oppression and slavery, and factory schooling. We may need to lie around being 'unproductive' for a few seasons or even a few generations.

"Freedom to reject is the only freedom"-Salman Rushdie

So be it. The caged animal, confined for long enough, will not even know it is free when the cage is gone. Now, it is mostly the inner cage that limits us.

As it slowly dawns upon us that we truly are free now, to do, be, and have what we need, and that we can dream bigger, we will wake up to our immense freedom. But freedom begins with the freedom to not do what we don't want to do, not have what we don't want to have, not be what we don't want to be. You can't know what you really want until know you are free.

At last, when we have tried everything else, we will claim our power back. We will use our freedom to create whatever we want by choosing for ourselves what we shall think, say, and do.

"It is unfortunate that only a few of us are so free in our joy, we no longer feel the need to prove ourselves to anyone.”

― Criss Jami, Killosophy
