“Instead of discussing with myself every morning whether I feel inspired or not, I step into my office every day at nine sharp, open the window and politely ask the muse to enter and kiss me. Sometimes she comes in, more often she does not. But she can never claim that she hasn’t found me waiting in the right place.” -Peter Prange
We hear the good and well advice to forcefully affirm our visions and dreams into being. But well we might consider who is this one who proposes to create?
If our affirmations and magical machinations with the law of attraction do not seem to work, perhaps it is our vision that is not in harmony with the universe. Perhaps these magical attraction manifestation things only work with visions we receive from the muse, not just stuff we think up.
The muse comes when it wants to. It is not up to us to make to muse show up. It is good to use the creative muscles so that when inspiration shows up we are ready to catch it. It's good to have a surfboard, and know how to use it, and to keep showing up of course, when the wave arrives.
It is the ego that worries when the muse is not around because it is invested in being someone who creates. Silly ego, you are the shutting door; that keeps the muse away!
Let go of the need to be that whatever it is, and just wait. Be patient, tend to the garden, do the chores, practice the techniques, and relax....Make space in your life so that when the muse does show up, you are not too busy to respond.
